City of Astoria Oregon: Forms & Permits

The City of Astoria requires permits for activities that are performed within the City and on City right-of-ways. All permits are designed to protect the City and residents by ensuring that work is conducted in a safe manner and to City Standards.

Please note: These permit forms are provided online for customer convenience and may also be picked up at City Hall. After completion, submit it to the Department listed on the form for review and approval. Permits are not valid until signed by all authorized departments and required fees are paid. Sandwich Board Permit Application Sandwich board signs (A-frames) are allowed to be located on a City sidewalk with a yearly permit. Signs are limited to 8 square feet (2' x 4'), and only one sign is allowed at each location.
Sign Permit A Sign Permit is required for any sign installed. Signs include anything visible from the outside of a building or visible on the site. See the Sign brochure for more details.

Historic Landmark Plaque Request Form The Planning Division provides Historic Landmarks plaques, free of charge, for anyone who wants to install one on their property. The property must be designated as historic either on the local historic register or the National Historic Register.
